Mauricio Pochettino has said that Tottenham Hotspur will be ‘ready’ for the January transfer window following an underwhelming start to the season.

Spurs currently sit seventh in the Premier League table having only won three of their nine games this season. They have only won one game in their last seven in all competitions and were held by bottom club Watford on Saturday evening in a 1-1 draw.

There are plenty of calls for Pochettino to refresh his squad and reignite his side’s stuttering campaign. However, the Argentine insists he trusts the players he currently has at his disposal but has suggested he will be ready for January.

He said: “We are not going to get any benefit to talk about January, it is too far away, we have got a lot of games to play. That is the structure of the club that is working and thinking and they need to be ready if we need to do something, if not we keep going, but I am happy with the squad, I am happy with the players.

“Like always, what is going to happen in January I cannot guess today, what happens will happen. We need to take the responsibility.”

Spurs will hope to relieve the pressure next weekend as they take on Liverpool. Pochettino to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post sits at a price of 5/2 with Paddy Power.
