With just under a month to go in the Football League calendar, Cardiff City have all but guaranteed the promotion that has eluded them in recent years. Here, we take a look at the teams potentially set to join them in the Premier League next season.

The Bluebirds bounced back from Saturday’s disappointment at Peterborough United by comfortably beating Blackburn Rovers 3-0 on Monday to move seven points clear of second place Hull City, who lost at Watford twenty-four hours later.

Malky Mackay’s men are now best priced at 1.06 (1/16) with Stan James to lift the Championship trophy, with Hull and third place Watford 17.0 (16/1) and 21.0 (20/1) respectively with Bet Victor to catch the league leaders and take pole position.

At 1.01 (1/100), you could be forgiven for ignoring Cardiff in the promotion market, where the Tigers are 1.67 (4/6) with Sporting Bet, just ahead of the Hornets at 1.83 (5/6) with the same firm.

Crystal Palace remain in fourth place despite losing for the third game in succession with defeat at manger Ian Holloway’s former club Blackpool.

The Eagles, who are six points of second place, and six ahead of seventh are now widely available at 4.0 (3/1) to return to the Premier League after an eight year absence.

Nottingham Forest are yet to play Premier League football this century, but kept their hopes alive by extending their unbeaten run to nine games since the re-arrival of Billy Davies with an equaliser from the penalty spot deep into injury time at Turf Moor.

The former European Champions sit in fifth place in the division, with a price of 4.33 (10/3) available from Bet 365 in the promotion market,

Brighton and Hove Albion kept themselves in the final play-off spot despite only taking two points over the Easter weekend following draws with Forest and Charlton Athletic, and are 5.5 (9/2) with William Hill to make their Premier League debut next season.

Leicester City were unable to capitalise on the Seagull’s dropping points, as they extended their winless run to seven games with defeat at Barnsley.

The Foxes, who host sixth place Brighton at the weekend are now at a best price of 7.5 (13/2) to be promoted, just ahead of eight placed Bolton Wanderers, who as high as 13.0 (12/1) following their narrow win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.
