Queens Park Rangers vs Chelsea Preview

Sunday afternoon’s Premier League action kicks off at Loftus Road where Queens Park Rangers host Chelsea, with both sides desperate for the points for very different reasons.

Having lost eight of their nine league games going in to last weekend, the Hoops have taken four points from their past two to move to within two points of safety, though the majority of teams around them have at least one game in hand over them.

They could end the weekend in as high as fifteenth place if other results fall in their favour and they get a victory in this, their first game in a run of four which see them face three of the sides in the top five.

Richard Dunne has recovered from a knee injury but is not expected to feature and Michael Doughty and Rio Ferdinand are both out though Darnell Furlong could return from a calf problem.

Top scorer Charlie Austin is priced at 10.0 (9/1) to open the scoring with Bet Victor, with Bobby Zamora a 15.0 (14/1) shot with the same firm.

The hosts are as highly priced as the 9.5 (17/2) on offer from Bet Victor, with the visitors widely available at 1.4 (2/5). The draw is 5.0 (4/1) with a variety of firms.

Jose Mourinho’s men survived a scare and a wonder strike from Charlie Adam to beat Stoke City last time out to strengthen their grip on top spot.

They sit seven points clear of second place Arsenal, and still have a game in hand over the chasing pack.

Top scorer Diego Costa is injured so Loic Remy is expected to lead the line against his former club while Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas are both set to return in the centre of midfield.

Remy is 4.75 (15/4) to open the scoring with Bet 365, with Eden Hazard a 6.5 (11/2) chance with the same company.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture 2-1 back in November, though they haven’t had it all their own way against QPR in recent seasons, so you may be tempted to back the hosts to score first at 3.75 (11/4) with Bet 365.
