QPR vs. Reading Preview

Sunday afternoon’s game at Loftus Road sees bottom of the table Queens Park Rangers host a Reading side who sit just one point and two places above them.

The hosts will be without Stephane Mbia, who begins a three match ban following his dismissal in his sides 1-0 defeat by Arsenal last weekend, whilst Armand Traore, Bobby Zamora and captain Park Ji Sung are all doubtful through their respective injuries.

Djibril Cisse is set to lead the line, and the Frenchman is priced at 7.0 (6/1) to open his league account for the season with the first goal of the game.

Mark Hughes side go in to the game as favourites, with some firms offering 1.85(17/20), while Reading are available at 4.60 (18/5) with Bet Victor. The draw is 3.75 (11/4) with the same firm.

The visitors go in to this match on the back of a remarkable game midweek; eventually losing 7-5 to Arsenal in the Capital One Cup.

They continue to be without midfielders Jem Karacan and Danny Guthrie, though Brian McDermott has no fresh injury worries.

Russian striker Pavel Pogbrenyak, who grabbed the extra-time equaliser for his side on Tuesday, is 8.5 (15/2) with Paddy Power to open the scoring, whilst Mikele Leigertwood, who has two in his last two, is 11.0 (10/1) to score at any time with Bet 365.

These two sides last met in the third round of the League Cup; Reading running out 3-2 winners, though Rangers have won three of the last four meetings in the league.

Following wins for Wigan, Norwich City and Aston Villa on Saturday, both sides will be even more desperate for the points, so there is every possibility that the two will cancel each other out, so you may be tempted to take advantage of the 13.0 (12/1) offered by Bet Victor for a goalless draw.

Alternatively, Ladbrokes price of 2.25 (5/4) for Mark Hughes to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post is sure to drop dramatically should his side lose for what would be a seventh time in ten attempts.
