Premiership relegation race hots up

With just six more rounds to go, no less than 11 teams are fighting for survival in the Premiership, with relegation race again set to go to the wire.

Bottom-placed Wigan are favourites for the drop, with William Hill paying 1.36 (4/11) on the Latics to go down, but you should bear in mind that Roberto Martinez’s side will mostly face bottom table teams in the remainder of the league campaign and that they are just two points behind safety at the moment.

Wolverhampton are 1.91 (10/11) to get relegated at Victor Chandler, but they, too, can improve their survival chances with good results against direct competitors.

West Ham are currently the third team in the relegation zone, but they don’t look like going down this term, so odds of 1.91 (10/11) offered on the Hammers to stay up at Paddy Power look too good to pass.

Blackpool have slipped into the danger zone following the dismal run of results, but the Tangerines will have four home games to ensure Premiership survival, although they are still just 1.67 (2/3) to go down at 888Sport.

Birmingham City are three points clear of the bottom three and have a game in hand, meaning they are unlikely to get relegated, which cannot be said of Blackburn, especially after their latest run. Rovers are 3.75 (11/4) to go down at Victor Chandler.

West Brom have virtually ensured survival with back to back wins over Liverpool and Sunderland, while the Black Cats, Aston Villa and Fulham should have no problems staying up.

Who do you think will be the three teams to get relegated from the Premiership this season?
