The two teams met just three days ago in the FA Cup final with Manchester City emerging victorious to lift their first trophy after 36 years, meaning the Potters will be looking to get revenge for the Saturday’s defeat.

With the Champions League qualification already in the bag, the Citizens could celebrate their FA Cup success without worrying what will happen in this match, although after Arsenal lost to Aston Villa, Roberto Mancini’s side can climb to third place by beating Stoke once again.

The third-place finish would mean the Citizens make it directly to the Champions League group stages, and Manchester City are now 1.67 (2/3) with Betfair to finish in top 3.

On the other hand, after City won 15 out of their last 16 home games, it is little wonder home win pays just 1.50 (1/2) with 888Sport.

Roberto Mancini could make some changes to the side that started the FA Cup final game, with Andy Johnson and Pablo Zabaleta pushing for starting places. However, Kolo Toure, Jerome Boateng and Shay Given remain unavailable.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Hart – Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta – Y. Toure, De Jong, Barry – Silva, Dzeko, A. Johnson.

Stoke couldn’t cope with the pressure of expectations in the FA Cup final and they ended up losing the game after playing below their potential, but the Potters will, nonetheless, be very happy to have secured the place in next year’s Europa League.

Tony Pulis’ side could have problems recovering from the disappointing defeat at Wembley and they are definitely seen as underdogs in this clash, although there are no doubts the visitors will be looking for revenge at Eastlands.

Matthew Etherington started the FA Cup final despite not being fully fit and he is likely to miss out, but Robert Huth should continue in defence after recovering from injury.

Keeper Asmir Begovic will return to the side after Thomas Sorensen was awarded with a starting spot at Wembley, but Ricardo Fuller, Mamadou Sidibe and Danny Higginbotham are out for the season.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Begovic – Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross, Wilson – Pennant, Whelan, Delap, Whitehead – Walters, Jones.
