Wednesday evening’s game at Anfield sees title chasing Liverpool host struggling Sunderland, with both sides desperate for the points at opposite ends of the table.

Brendan Rodgers’ men extended their unbeaten league run to thirteen games with a 6-3 win over Cardiff City in South Wales at the weekend.

That was their sixth straight Premier League victory in succession, and a seventh here would see them move to within a point of leaders Chelsea with seven matches remaining.

The Reds have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, though Raheem Sterling may be recalled to the starting line up having come on as a substitute last time out.

Top scorer Luis Suarez, who added another three to his impressive goal tally this season at the weekend, is unsurprisingly favourite to get the first of the game at 3.5 (5/2) with Ladbrokes, while Daniel Sturridge is a 4.0 (3/1) shot with the same firm.

The home win is widely available at 1.18 (2/11), with Sunderland an 18.0 (17/1) chance with 888 Sport, who price the draw at 8.5 (15/2).

The visitors stretched their winless run to four games by losing 2-0 Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The result left them in the relegation zone, three points from safety, though a victory by two goals or more here will see them leapfrog seventeenth place Crystal Palace.

The Black Cats will be without Fabio Borini, who is ineligible to face his parent club while Steven Fletcher is out with an ankle injury and Marcos Alonso is suspended following his dismissal at the weekend.

Jozy Altidore is 18.0 (17/1) to open the scoring with 888 Sport, with Emanuele Giaccherini available at 29.0 (28/1) with Bet 365.

Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners when the sides met at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season, while last season’s corresponding fixture also ended in a victory for the Merseyside club.

Luis Suarez bagged a brace in both matches, and the Uruguay international can be backed at 3.25 (9/4) with William Hill to do so this time around, while the hosts are priced at 2.7 (17/10) with the same firm to score four or more, as they have in their last three home matches.
