Adam Lallana EnglandEngland boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he has been impressed by Southampton captain Adam Lallana in his first ever games for the national team.

The 25-year-old started international friendlies against Chile and Germany, and despite his side losing both games, he left a pretty good impression.

He seems to have done enough to keep his hopes of making England World Cup squad alive, with Roy Hodgson heaping praise on the talented footballer.

Asked whether Lallana has improved his chances of getting on the plane to Brazil, the experienced manager replied: “Yes he has, there is no doubt about that.

“I was very happy with his two performances, he has shown he is comfortable on this stage and has a lot of skill.”

With just one friendly game to be played before England travel to Brazil, Lallana has a very good chance of keeping his place in the squad.

This is why odds of 3.75 (11/4) offered on Lallana to make the World Cup squad should be taken before they are slashed further.
