Following the 2-1 triumph at Wanda Metropolitano, Sevilla are in the driving seat, but don’t expect los Rojiblancos to give up fighting for a place in the Copa del Rey semis.

The Estadio Ramon Sanchez outfit experienced all sorts of problems this season and it is now up to former AS Roma boss Vincenzo Montella to try and get the team back on track.

The Italian didn’t quite manage to do so in his first few games, but los Rojiblancos have finally started showing signs of improvement.

It all started from the Copa del Rey clash against Atletico, where Sevilla managed to come back from a goal down to earn a 2-1 victory thanks to late goals from Jesus Navas and Joaquin Correa.

Los Rojiblancos did well to build on that result as they hammered Espanyol 3-0 on the road and they will fancy their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals.

While they await the return of Aleix Vidal from Barcelona, Sevilla will have to rely on the old guns, who appear to be in excellent spirits at the moment.

It remains to be seen whether Ganso and Simon Kjaer will return to the matchday squad, but defenders Nicolas Pareja and Daniel Carrico are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Sergio Rico – Corchia, Mercado, Lenglet, Escudero – N’Zonzi, Banega – Sarabia, Vazquez, Correa – Muriel.

Unlike their next opponents, Atletico Madrid had done really well until the aforementioned first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

Los Colchoneros had climbed to second in the La Liga standings, leapfrogging high-flying Valencia, but the 2-1 loss to Sevilla acted as a blow to the players’ confidence.

Atletico were then surprisingly held to Girona in the league clash at Wanda Metropolitano and they are now looking to return to winning ways as soon as possible.

Los Colchoneros have done fairly well on recent travels, losing just one away fixture this season, while winning five of last six matches on the road on domestic stage.

Miguel Angel Moya will continue his Copa del Rey campaign despite being under-par against Sevilla, but Diego Simeone is set to field his best outfield players.

Diego Costa will probably be rested, but Diego Godin returns from La Liga ban and Filipe Luis misses out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Moya – Gimenez, Godin, Hernandez, Vrsaljko – Carrasco, Gabi, Saul, Koke – Torres, Griezmann.
