Having successfully negotiated a difficult clash with Athletic Club at San Mames, Atletico Madrid now hope to climb to second place in the standings by defeating Sevilla.

Los Rojiblancos will have other ideas having won last four La Liga fixtures without conceding a single goal in the process.

Atletico Madrid have faced some problems during the early exchanges, especially with star forward Antoine Griezmann being suspended, but they are slowly returning to the right track.

Los Colchoneros climbed to third in the La Liga standings thanks to back to back wins over Malaga and Athletic Club, with the French forward playing an important role in those victories.

Atletico’s attack will be even stronger in the second part of the season as they have secured the signature of Diego Costa, meaning the players will have an extra motive to give their best before January,

With Real Madrid struggling and Barcelona not exactly relentless at the moment, Atletico Madrid have a chance to mount a serious title challenge and they can be backed at 1.65 (13/20) to defeat in-form Sevilla.

Full-back Filipe Luis is unlikely to be risked as he suffered a knee injury in midweek, while Augusto Fernandez continues to miss out.

Chances are Diego Simeone will make some changes to the side, with Juanfran, Lucas Hernandez and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco expected to come in.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Oblak – Juanfran, Hernandez, Godin, Vrsaljko – Koke, Gabi, Saul, Carrasco – Correa, Griezmann.

Sevilla had some key personnel to replace in the summer as both Jorge Sampaoli and Monchi left the club, but they have coped incredibly well.

Once again, los Rojiblancos made some shrewd moves in the summer transfer window, reinforcing their ranks with some quality players without spending too much money.

New boss Eduardo Berizzo did well to quickly rebuild the squad and five games into the new campaign, Sevilla occupy second place in the La Liga standings.

While sharing spoils with Liverpool at Anfield, los Rojiblancos won four straight fixtures in La Liga, defeating Getafe, Eibar, Girona and Las Palmas without conceding.

Sevilla will have much bigger fish to fry on Saturday, but they have every reason to feel optimistic ahead of the trip to Wanda Metropolitano.

Nolito and Guido Pizarro should be back in contention, while Nico Pareja, Jesus Navas, Sergio Escudero and Simon Kjaer all returned into action against Las Palmas.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Rico – Mercado, Kjaer, Pareja, Escudero – Banega, N’Zonzi – Navas, Ganso, Correa – Ben Yedder.
