Alessandro MatriItalian striker Alessandro Matri has moved to confirm reports suggesting he was set to join Fiorentina on a six-month loan deal.

The former Juventus forward has been struggling for playing time at San Siro since arriving in the summer and he looks set to quit the Rossoneri.

And with Fiorentina having key attackers Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi sidelined through injury, they are set to wrap up a deal for Matri.

“There are some minor details to eke out and then I will be available for the coach,” Matri told Italian media. “I am hungry to play and to score a lot of goals,”

Alessandro Matri, 29, has scored 64 goals in 215 Serie A matches while playing for Cagliari, Juventus and AC Milan.

His arrival at Artemio Franchi will be a big boost for the team that are locked in the battle for the final Champions League berth with Napoli and Inter.

And while Viola sit five points behind third-placed Azzurri, they are priced at 4.00 (3/1) with bet365 to achieve a top 3 finish in Serie A.
