Robson-KanuWales striker Hal Robson-Kanu has moved to reveal that he has a number of offers from around the world as his contract with Reading came to an end.

The 27-year-old opted against extending his 12-year stay with the Championship side, and didn’t want to commit his future before the Euro 2016 finals.

That proved to be a very good decision as he went on to score crucial goals for Wales against Slovakia and Belgium, seeing his stock rise a great deal in the process.

“There’s offers from around the world,” Robson-Kanu confessed to BBC Sport.

“I had offers before the tournament – good offers from good, progressive clubs – but I made a decision to wait.”

“I’ve made no secret of my desire to play in the Premier League and if that’s the best place for me then I’ll be there.

“I made a decision to run my contract at Reading down. I’ve been there 12 years, given a lot of service and felt it was the best decision for myself and my career to decide where I go next.

“I’ve been aware of clubs coming in for me in the past, bigger clubs. For whatever reason, it didn’t happen, so it’s probably one of the best decisions of my life.”

Oddly enough, Robson-Kanu was a doubt for the tournament finals, which is why he was left on the bench in the opening fixture against Slovakia, but he has since proved his fitness and helped the Dragons qualify for the first ever semi-final at a major competition.

Wales will be vying less than impressive Portugal for a place in the final and they can be backed at 2.50 (3/2) to get one step closer to the coveted trophy.
