Netherlands vs MexicoFour games ahead of the final qualifier of the year, Netherlands will host Mexico at Amsterdam ArenA, hoping to make amends for the dismal run of results of late.

Meanwhile, El Tri will be out to get revenge on Oranje for the defeat in the 2014 World Cup Last 16 stage, which remains their only loss in last eight games.

Netherlands largely impressed to achieve a third-place finish at the World Cup finals in Brazil under Louis van Gaal, but his replacement Guus Hiddink has struggled to keep the results at a respectable level.

While Oranje usually go through qualifying campaigns unbeaten and with very few points dropped, they had a nightmare start to the Euro 2016 qualifiers, losing two of first three matches.

Netherlands worked hard even for the home win over Kazakhstan, but away losses to Czech Republic and Iceland seriously damaged the atmosphere in the squad.

Everybody in the national team now hopes a good result against Mexico will help them return to the right track, with home win paying 1.87 (20/23).

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been ruled out through injury, while Bruno Martins Indi and Jordy Clasie also miss out.

With Davy Klaasen and Nigel de Jong forced to withdraw, the likes of Leroy Fer, Luuk de Jong and Jeffrey Bruma have been drafted into the squad.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Cillessen – van der Wiel, de Vrij, Vlaar, Blind – Robben, Fer, Wijnaldum, Sneijder – Huntelaar, Depay.

Mexico have made a tremendous progress under colourful coach Miguel Herrera and they were somewhat unfortunate not to get past the Last 16 stage at the 2014 World Cup.

El Tri conceded two very late goals to crash out of the tournament finals, with Arjen Robben becoming public enemy number one after diving to earn a last-gasp penalty.

This will give Mexico an extra motivation ahead of the clash at Amsterdam ArenA, where they are 4.50 (7/2) to emerge victorious.

The national team chiefs have somehow managed to persuade Calros Vela to end his international exile, with Herrera confirming the Real Sociedad star would start.

Villarreal starlet Jonathan dos Santos has also received a call-up, while Guillermo Ochoa remains the number one keeper despite struggling for playing time at Malaga.

Probable starting line-up (5-3-2): Ochoa – Aguilar, M. Herrera, Reyes, Alanis, Aldrete – H. Herrera, Vazquez, Guardado – Vela, Hernandez.
