Juventus vs Palermo preview

The only unbeaten side in Serie A play host to one of the worst travelers in the elite division, so one could be forgiven for thinking that home win is the only logical outcome here.

After spending almost €90 million on new players in the summer, Juventus were always going to play a big role in Serie A this season.

Despite suffering several unexpected slip-ups, the Bianconeri have been pretty impressive at the start to the season, with derby wins over Milan and Inter proving that Antonio Conte’s side are ready to mount a serious title challenge.

Juventus are the only unbeaten side in Serie A and they currently sit two points behind leaders Udinese, but with a game in hand, so this could be the perfect time to back the Old Lady to win Serie A title at odds of 3.60 (12/5) offered by Unibet.

Antonio Conte’s men have been pretty convincing at their Juventus Arena and seeing they now play host to the side that rarely bring points from their travels, odds of 1.50 (1/2) offered by Ladbrokes on home win look too good to pass.

After quite a while, the boss will have fully fit squad to choose from, as Andrea Barzagli has recovered from injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio – Pepe, Matri, Vucinic.

Together with Udinese, Palermo boast perfect home record, having won all five games at Renzo Barbera and it is the great home performances that keep the Rosanero in the top part of the table.

However, Devis Mangia’s side have only brought one point from five away games, conceding six goals in the process and they have yet to register a goal away from home.

That is likely to be a problem before facing in-form Juventus at their own ground, so nobody really believes that Palermo can get something from this game.

Boss Mangia believes that the lack of experience is the biggest issue on the travels, but, despite diagnosing the problem, the young coach doesn’t really have an instant solution.

Goalscoring drought looks likely to continue with both Mauricio Pinilla and Abel Hernandez missing out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Tzorvas – Pisano, Silvestre, Cetto, Balzaretti – Migliaccio, Bacinovic, Barreto – Ilicic, Zahavi – Miccoli.
