Hertha vs Borussia DortmundTwo fallen giants of German football square off at Olympiastadion in Berlin hoping to finally leave the Bundesliga danger zone.

And while Hertha have lost four of last five league matches, Borussia Dortmund finally ended the barren run as they recorded a narrow win over Hoffenheim.

Hertha have been surprisingly disappointing this season and they currently sit just above the relegation zone, although the team obviously have plenty of room for improvement.

While largely struggling on the road, taking mere four points from seven matches, die Alte Dame recorded three straight wins at Olympiastadion, but the good run was short-lived.

Back to back home defeats to Hannover and Bayern Munich saw Hertha slip to 15th in the overall standings and they clearly go into the Dortmund game low on confidence.

Boss Jos Luhukay has no fresh injury worries, but Valentin Stocker, Marius Gersbeck, Sebastian Langkamp, Alexander Baumjohan, Fabian Lustenberger and Tolga Cigerci remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Kraft – Pekarik, Hegeler, Brooks, Schulz – Hosogai, Skjelbred – Beerens, Ronny, Ben Hatira – Schieber.

The mere fact Borussia Dortmund were sitting at Bundesliga rock bottom ahead of last weekend’s games is enough to suggest the amount of problems Jurgen Klopp’s side experienced this season.

Oddly enough, the Millionaires have been pretty impressive in Europe, securing the first place in their Champions League group, and they can finally focus on improving their league position.

Jurgen Klopp admitted his charges had been under tremendous pressure before the Hoffenheim game last weekend, but they managed to record a 1-0 win that should help the players restore some of the lost confidence.

The boss then used the Champions League clash against Anderlecht to rest his star players, and Borussia can now be backed at 1.62 (5/8) to defeat Hertha as well.

Australian goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak will again be preferred to Roman Weidenfeller, while Sokartis Papastathopoulos, Marco Reus and Ji Dong-Won are out injured.

Several first team regulars will be recalled to the side, with key defender Mats Hummels expected to return into action.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Langerak – Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer – Bender, Kehl – Mkhitaryan, Gundogan, Aubameyang – Immobile.
