Bayern Munich utility player David Alaba could be set for another spell on the sidelines, according to the latest reports.
The highly rated footballer was forced to withdraw at half-time of Tuesday’s clash with Austria as he suffered a knee injury.
And having had previously missed two months through a combination of knee problems, Alaba could now miss the crucial stage of the season for Bayern.
His injury will be accessed during the day, but the full-back revealed after the game that he had a severe pain in his knee.
“I have very, very strong pain. I can barely walk. I really do not know what’s going on,” Alaba told reporters.
The Austria star is almost certain to miss the weekend’s derby clash with Borussia Dortmund at Signal-Iduna Park, where the Bavarians are 2.10 (11/10) to claim maximum points.
