Borussia Dortmund will attempt to return to the Bundesliga summit after a dismal run of results and at the same time get one over their arch rivals.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are already three points clear at the top and a potential victory at Signal-Iduna Park would be an important step towards another league trophy.

Once again, the Borussia Dortmund squad underwent major changes in the summer transfer window, but the team appear to be stronger than last year.

The Millionaires were always going to experience problems in the opening exchanges, but those were mostly reserved for their European campaign.

While failing to win any of their first four Champions League group games, Borussia Dortmund did pretty well on domestic stage, taking an early lead in the title chase.

However, the 3-2 home loss to top 4 rivals RB Leipzig seems to have taken the wind out of their sails and the Millionaires then also failed to win games against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover.

This is why it is extremely important that Borussia perform well in the derby clash against Bayern Munich, or else their title chances will be severely damaged.

Andrei Yarmolenko, Marcel Schmelzer and Gonzalo Castro should be recalled, but Marco Reus, Sebastian Rode, Lukasz Piszczek, Erik Durm and Dan-Axel Zagadou remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Burki – Bartra, Sokratis, Toprak, Schmelzer – Castro, Weigl, Gotze – Yarmolenko, Aubameyang, Philipp.

Unlike their bitter rivals, Bayern Munich had a pretty disappointing start to the new season that eventually saw Carlo Ancelotti get the boot.

The club chiefs then made a very good decision to appoint former boss Jupp Heynckes in his place, which resulted in an instant improvement.

Under his guidance, the Bavarians went on to win six straight matches in all competitions, climbing to the top of the Bundesliga standings in the process.

Following the 2-0 triumph over RB Leipzig, Bayern will now want to defeat the other title rivals as well, and they can be backed at 2.05 (21/20) to succeed in their quest.

Robert Lewandowski returns after Heynckes opted not to risk him against Celtic, while Mats Hummels will be recalled as well.

Jerome Boateng and Kingsley Coman have shaken off minor knocks, but Neuer, Bernat, Ribery, Muller, Benko and Pantovic remain in the treatment room.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ulreich – Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba – Martinez, Rudy – Robben, Thiago, Coman – Lewandowski.
