Augsburg vs WolfsburgHigh-flying Augsburg desperately need to end a four-match winless run if they are to remain in contention for Champions League positions, but this is not the right time to be facing red-hot Wolfsburg.

The Wolves have won last four games in style and aim to place extra pressure on leaders Bayern by extending the run at SGL Arena.

Augsburg are enjoying the most successful season in club’s 107-year history and they are in a position to fight for first ever Champions League qualification.

The Fuggerstadter were sitting in Bundesliga top 4 until recently, following some impressive displays in the first part of the season, but several poor performances of late are threatening to ruin their campaign.

After enjoying impressive triumphs over Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund on the back of a winter break, Augsburg could only take two points from next four matches.

The good news is they still sit just one point behind fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, but the problem is they are now facing in-form Wolfsburg.

And with their last three home matches producing a total of 12 goals, both teams to score bet needs to be considered at 1.62 (5/8).

The likes of Paul Verhaegh, Jan Moravek, Alexander Esswein, Sascha Molders, Dominik Reinhardt and Jeong-Ho Hong are all out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Hitz – Feulner, Callsen-Bracker, Klavan, Baba – Baier – Bobadilla, Hojbjerg, Altintop, Werner – Ji Dong-Won.

Similar to their next opposition, Wolfsburg have been enjoying their most successful campaign in years, and Dieter Hecking’s charges look unstoppable at the moment.

The Wolves have all but secured Champions League qualification with 11 games to go, but they now hope to take advantage of any slip up leaders Bayern make and try to mount a title challenge as well.

Wolfsburg eased off to the Europa League last 16 stage, where they will be facing out-of-sorts Inter Milan, so no doubt they are now one of the favourites to win the coveted title.

The Wolves have been absolutely impressive on domestic stage, winning last four Bundesliga games, and they can be backed at 2.15 (23/20) to extend the impressive run.

Dutch striker Bas Dost has been on fire of late, bagging 14 goals in last 10 matches, and he is available at 2.20 (6/5) to score anytime.

Ivan Perisic is doubtful with an adductor problem, but Ricardo Rodriguez and Robin Knoche should be recalled to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Benaglio – Vieirinha, Naldo, Knoche, Rodriguez – Guilavogui, Gustavo – Caliguri, de Bruyne, Schurrle – Dost.
