Brendan Rodgers is the favourite to become the first Premier League manager to lose his job after Liverpool were beaten by fierce rivals Manchester United at the weekend.

The Northern Irishman is into his fourth season as manager of the Merseyside club, and after taking seven points from the opening three games of the season, they have suffered back to back defeats leaving them in tenth place, eight points behind leaders Manchester City.

888 Sport offer 3.75 (11/4) for Rodgers to win the Premier League sack race though some bookmakers are offering as little as even money.

Next in line is Sunderland boss Dick Advocat, who is one of only three managers in the division yet to secure a victory this season.
The former Rangers boss took over at the Stadium of Light back in March and guided the club to safety last season.

He originally looked set to retire, but opted to remain in the hot seat for the 2015/16 campaign.

They are now without victory in eight league games, and have two games away from home coming up – first at top flight newcomers Bournemouth and then at Manchester United.

A variety of firms offer 4.0 (3/1) for Advocat to leave, while next in line is Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho.

The Blues have suffered a disappointing start to their title defence, taking just four points from their opening five games.

Their only victory came last month when they edged past West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns, while they have lost to leaders Manchester City, Crystal Palace and most recently Everton.

They have conceded twelve goals already, just three less than they did under Mourinho in the entirety of the 2004/05 campaign.
The former Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid man is widely available at 7.0 (6/1) to be relieved of his duties.

Aston Villa’s Tim Sherwood and West Brom’s Tony Pulis can each be backed at 19.0 (18/1) with Paddy Power, while Steve McClaren, whose Newcastle United side slipped to the bottom of the table after they lost to West Ham United on Monday evening, is a 21.0 (20/1) chance with 888 Sport.
