BoyataScottish champions Glasgow Celtic are set to complete the signing of Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City, according to BBC Sport.

The Bhoys have reportedly agreed a £1.5 million fee for the 24-year-old, with the centre-back already in Scotland to complete the deal.

Boyata is, therefore, set to become club’s first signing of the summer transfer window, with few more quality players likely to follow.

The Belgian defender joined Manchester City as a youngster from Brussels in 2006, and he was handed his first team debut during the 2009/2010 season.

However, while enjoying loan spells with Bolton and Twente, Boyata could only amass 13 Premier League appearances for the Citizens.

He will now have a good chance of nailing down a regular starting berth at Parkhead and kick-starting his career in Scotland.
