Arguably the Premier League clash of the weekend takes place at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal face top of the table Manchester United.

The Gunners go into the weekend just three points behind the leaders, but have lost three of their last five games in all competitions – the latest of which Tuesday evening’s Champions League tie against Olympiakos.

A high scoring victory here, together with other results falling in their favour could see Arsene Wenger’s side rise to the top of the table.

Olivier Giroud is set to return to the starting line-up after serving a European suspension midweek, though Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta are all out injured along with long term absentees Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosiky and Danny Welbeck.

Giroud is favourite to get the first goal of the game, with a variety of firms offering a price of 6.0 (5/1), while Theo Walcott can be backed at a widely available price of 6.5 (11/2).

The home win is 2.1 (11/10) with William Hill, with the visitors 3.8 (14/5) with a number of bookmakers. The draw is as highly priced as the 3.75 (11/4) on offer from Bet 365.

Louis van Gaal’s side are on a four game winning run, with their last win coming in their Champions League tie against Wolfsburg on Wednesday evening.

Michael Carrick is set to return after missing out midweek, though Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw remain side-lined.

Anthony Martial is 9.0 (8/1) to open the scoring with Sporting Bet, with captain Wayne Rooney available at the same price with several firms.

The sides met three times last season, with the pair drawing 1-1 at Old Trafford in the penultimate league game of last season after United had taken the spoils from the clash at the Emirates Stadium last November.

In between those two league games, the sides met in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, with the North London side securing a 2-1 win in Manchester.

Both teams have scored in seven of the last nine meetings between the sides, so you may be tempted to back that outcome here at 1.75 (3/4) with Betfair.
