Spanish media are buzzing in bundles about La Liga giants Barcelona launching an ambitious – and hopefully final – attack on Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barcelona board feels that Coutinho’s signing is extremely important this winter, despite the fact that Brazilian maestro would be cup-tied and won’t be able to help Barcelona in the Champions League.

The Catalans want to provide captain Andres Iniesta with some much needed and deserved rest and slowly integrate the Liverpool star to the first team.

Additionally, the Catalan media outlet Sport is reporting that ‘time is now’ for Coutinho to move to Camp Nou, adding that Barcelona representatives will meet the player’s agents on 3 January to discuss the final terms of the deal before approaching Liverpool with a lucrative price that could go well up to €140 million.

Barcelona are confident Liverpool would not be able to resist such an offer and are hopeful that a deal to sign Coutinho will finally be sealed this time around after several failed bids launched earlier this year.

La Liga leaders have reached a unanimous consensus on Philippe Coutinho, highlighting the Brazilian international as their primary target for the winter. Ernesto Valverde and the entire management team – including Robert Fernandez and Pep Segura – are said to have given their nod and installed Oscar Grau, the club’s general director to lead the negotiations.

Philippe Coutinho has been in impressive form for Liverpool this season. The Reds will have plenty of problems keeping hold of their prized asset who is a 4/6 bet to sign for Barcelona before 3 February 2018.
