After Marseille could only muster a 2:2 draw with Lorient, Lille have got a chance to go six points clear at the top before the final two rounds, so there is no doubt les Dogues will be very motivated to win this game. However, they will not have an easy job against high-flying Sochaux, with les Lionceaux looking to remain in contention for the Europa League place.

Lille won Coupe de France

Lille have started the season slowly but kept raising their game as the season unfolded and are now on the road to achieve a historic double. Les Dogues have continued the rich vein of form by beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final, while they managed to come one step closer to the league title without even playing at game at the weekend. After Marseille failed to beat Lorient, Lille remained three points clear of OM and they can now make it six with a win over Sochaux, which would virtually ensure them the title two rounds before the end of the league campaign. Having won every one of their four games, les Dogues are brimming with confidence and are expected to continue the amazing scoring run that saw them score in all but two home games this season. However, they could face some problems at the back against very good attacking side that is Sochaux.

Florent Balmont should return to the side after missing the Cup final through injury, meaning that Rudi Garcia will have full squad to choose from.

Sochaux red hot at the moment

After narrowly surviving last few seasons in top flight, the club management decided to rejuvenate the side with coach Francis Gillot introducing several youngsters without any Ligue 1 experience. By keeping the experienced players in the back line and adding quality as well as enthusiasm to midfield in attack, Gillot managed to create a great team that have impressed the whole of France this season. With Ideye Brown, Marvin Martin, Ryad Boudebouz and Modibo Maiga in impressive form this term, les Lionceaux have climbed to the sixth place in the standings and now have a chance to close the gap behind European places to just one point. It will not be easy for them to face the best attacking side in the league, but Sochaux have nothing to worry about after winning their last three games in which they scored no less than eight goals.

Jacques Faty, Jeremy Brechet, Yassin Mikari, Kevin Anin and Serdar Gurler remain sidelined, but Sochaux have already proved they can do pretty well even without these players.

Verdict

Everything suggests we will see a great game of football at Stade Lille Metropole, with both Lille and Sochaux scoring goals for fun at the moment. Since both teams will be going for a win here, backing both teams to score looks like the right choice here.
