Ribery FranceFrance superstar Franck Ribery will not be taking part at the 2014 World Cup, les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps has confirmed at a press conference.

The Bayern Munich winger arrived at a training camp carrying a back injury, but he aggravated the problem in training, causing him to miss the tournament finals altogether.

“He is not capable of training for a few weeks, let alone playing a game,” Deschamps said at a press conference.

“He had to stop in training, the pain was too strong. We made checks in the beginning of the afternoon, checks that confirmed the situation has aggravated.”

There were more bad news for Didier Deschamps as Clement Grenier also had to pull out due to a hip injury, with Morgan Schneiderlin and Remy Cabella called as replacements.

After sharing spoils with Paraguay last Sunday, France face Jamaica in their final warm-up game tomorrow, with les Blues 1.22 (2/9) to emerge victorious.

Meanwhile, France have been made 1.83 (5/6) favourites to win Group E that also contains the likes of Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras.
