Manchester City vs RomaReaching the Champions League knockout stages for the first time in 16 years, Dynamo Kiev will not be lacking motivation when they take on out-of-sorts Manchester City.

The Citizens head to Ukraine looking to make amends for three successive defeat and take advantage of the opponents’ lack of competitive action.

Dynamo Kiev have been regular in Europe’s elite competition in the 21st century, but they haven’t enjoyed plenty of success.

The Ukrainian giants went farthest in 1998/1999 when they reached the semi-final, but have since only once progressed from the group stage before this season.

Dynamo did well to pip FC Porto to a place in the Last 16 stage, and while they were initially probably not too happy about facing Manchester City, the mood has definitely changed of late.

With the Citizens completely out of form and missing quite a few first team players, there may be value in odds of 3.50 (5/2) offered on home win.

The hosts will be without left-back Antunes, who is banned, while Mykola Morozyuk is out injured and Olexandr Rybka is rated doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Shovkovsky – Danilo Silva, Khacheridi, Dragovic, Vida – Rybalka, Sydorchuk – Yarmolenko, Garmash, Gonzalez – Junior.

The end of Manuel Pellegrini’s reign at Etihad Stadium could prove quite disappointing unless his team recovers from the dismal run of results any time soon.

Back to back home defeats to title rivals Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur all but ended team’s hopes of clinching the Premier League title, but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

With the manager desperate to keep his key men fit for the Dynamo Kiev clash, Man City were hammered by Chelsea in the FA Cup clash, and no doubt the 5-1 defeat served as another major blow to the players’ confidence.

And even though the likes of Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and others will return to the starting line-up, backing the Citizens to win does not seem a tempting prospect.

Wilfried Bony and Bacary Sagna both face fitness tests, but Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas, Fabian Delph and Kevin De Buryne are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Hart – Zabaleta, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy – Fernando, Fernandinho – Silva, Toure, Sterling – Aguero.
