Chelsea vs FC Copenhagen preview

After winning the first leg in Denmark, Chelsea have virtually secured the passage into the Champions League quarter-finals and it would take a real miracle for the Blues to miss out on the place in the next round.

The victory in Denmark helped the Blues kick-start their season as they went on to beat Manchester United and Blackpool, so there is no doubt Carlo Ancelotti’s men will be looking to continue the rich vein of form.

The Blues are hot favourites to win this one and it is no wonder the highest price on home win is 1.33 (1/3) at Paddy Power.

Carlo Ancelotti has no fresh injury concerns, meaning Alex and Yossi Benayoun remain the only unavailable players.

FC Copenhagen achieved a big success by qualifying from the Champions League group stages, but they couldn’t play a good game against Chelsea having just returned into action following the winter break.

The Danes should look a bit sharper at Stamford Bridge, but it is likely to be too late for them seeing they are already two goals behind.

Stale Solbakken’s side will, nonetheless, give their best in this match as they simply have nothing to lose, although it looks highly unlikely that they will even score let alone get something from the game. Sportingbet pays 1.91 (10/11) on FC Copenhagen not to score.

The visitors will be without suspended Zdenek Pospech, while Mikael Antonsson is a major doubt after straining his buttock muscle.
