Villarreal vs SevillaHigh-flying Villarreal will attempt to get their top 4 bid back on track when they host Sevilla, a team that are low on spirits following the Copa del Rey elimination.

Having done brilliantly to climb to fourth place in the standings quickly upon gaining promotion to La Liga, the Yellow Submarine are now trying hard to keep their Champions League bid alive.

And it is really impressive to see the team playing at a very high level in spite of some selection problems, with Villarreal very unfortunate to pick up just one point from games against Malaga and Barcelona.

And while a victory against los Boquerones eluded them in the dying moments of the match, Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side gave a good account of themselves at Camp Nou, proving they fully deserve the current league position.

With the confidence high in the camp, Villarreal defeated Elche away to make it to the Copa del Rey Last 16 stage, and they now aim to continue the good run of results against Sevilla.

And despite los Rojiblancos seriously improving their away form, the Yellow Submarine are 1.91 (10/11) favourites to claim maximum points.

Key midfielder Cani remains injury doubt, but a number of regular starters are set to be recalled after they were rested in midweek.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Asenjo- Mario, Musacchio, Dorado, Jaume Costa – Aquino, Bruno, Trigueros, Perez – Dos Santos, Uche.

Sevilla established themselves as one of the strongest home sides in La Liga over the years, but the team would always experience all sorts of problems on the road.

However, it appears new boss Unai Emery has finally found a cure for the travel sickness, with his side winning last four away fixtures in all competitions.

This has seen los Rojiblancos climb to seventh in the league standings, while clinching the first place in their Europa League group, but midweek’s 2-0 defeat to Racing Santander effectively ended their Copa del Rey campaign.

However, chances are nobody at the club will be too concerned by that result at the time when their league campaign is progressing even better than planned, although the team face a stern test in their attempt to record their fifth straight victory on the road.

And with Sevilla no less than 4.40 (17/5) to triumph at El Madrigal, there will be quite a few punters tempted to back Unai Emery’s side here.

Alberto Moreno and Stephane M’Bia miss out through injury and suspension respectively, but Ivan Rakitic, Kevin Gameiro and Federico Fazio have resumed full training.

Marko Marin is nearing his return from injury, but Denis Cheryshev, Cicinho and Nico Pareja remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Figueiras, Fazio, Cala, Navarro – Iborra, Carrico – Vitolo, Rakitic, Reyes – Bacca.
