Zinedine Zidane is still insisting that Real Madrid sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

According to Marca, the former French international sees the 26-year-old as the missing piece of puzzle at the Santiago Bernabeu, and wants to swoop for his signature at all costs.

The report also suggests that contact between Zidane and Pogba has continued throughout the current campaign, with the former making his admiration clear.

It is also implied that Pogba is interested in a move to Madrid, with his contract set to expire at Old Trafford in the summer of 2021, and he could refuse to sign a renewed deal.

There is a problem surrounding a potential deal however, with the hierarchy at Real Madrid having a few doubts about Pogba. Whilst they agree that he is an excellent midfielder, they question how is going to fit it into the current squad.

Federico Valverde has been developing excellently, whilst Martin Odegaard has been performing very well at Real Sociedad and is set to return to the club in the summer.

Elsewhere, Pogba has been struggling with injury throughout the current season, having only made five Premier League appearances and none since September.

The Frenchman is currently at odds of 7/2 with William Hill to sign for Real Madrid before the closure of the January transfer window.
