Celta vs AthleticCelta Vigo hope to continue the impressive run of results and create extra cushion between them and the relegation zone as they prepare to face high-flying Athletic, who can make a giant step towards a top 4 finish by winning at Balaidos.

The Sky Blues showed a great deal of promise in the opening exchanges, but they just could not get the results in sync with their performances.

Some unfortunate defeats saw Luis Enrique’s side slip into the danger zone, but it appears they have finally managed to kick-start their season.

Celta Vigo seriously raised their form to win three of last four matches, thus creating a five-point advantage over their relegation rivals.

And having scored eight goals during that period, both teams to score bet needs to be considered at 1.70 (7/10) when they face Athletic on Monday.

Celta go into the game high on confidence buoyed by back to back triumphs over Real Betis and Granada, but stopping in-form Athletic Club will not be an easy task.

January signings Welliton and Inigo Lopez should be in contention, whereas important players Charles and Rafinha have resumed full training.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Yoel – Mallo, Cabral, Fontas, Jonny – Rafinha, Oubina, Fernandez – Orellana, Charles, Nolito.

Athletic Bilbao are clearly enjoying one of the most successful seasons in recent years, with the team now the main candidates for the final Champions League berth in La Liga.

Team’s three-match winning run may have ended as they shared spoils with mighty Real Madrid, but a thoroughly impressive display against one of Europe’s strongest sides should keep them in good stead for the remainder of the season.

Los Leones completely outclassed their more illustrious opponents and ended up taking a deserved point that helped keep their Champions League hopes alive.

And with their top 4 rivals Villarreal losing on Saturday, Athletic now have a chance to increase their lead to huge six points by winning at Balaidos.

This may not be the right time to be facing revived Celta Vigo, but Ernesto Valverde’s side remain 2.30 (13/10) favourites to claim maximum points.

Midfielder Benat Etxebarria misses out with a back problem, whereas Gaizka Toquero and Inigi Perez are also unavailable.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Iraizoz – Iraola, Gurpegui, Laporte, Balenziaga – Mikel Rico, Iturraspe – Susaeta, Herrera, Muniain – Aduriz.
