Atletico Madrid vs Celta_optThe goalless draw achieved in the Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg at Balaidos leaves both sides in a good position to qualify, although rock-solid Atletico Madrid have got to be considered the favourites to go through.

In spite of their latest slip-up against Sevilla, los Colchoneros have been absolutely brilliant this season, with amazing defensive performances the main reason behind impressive results.

Having allowed mere 8 goals in 21 league fixtures this term, Atletico stand a chance of breaking an 84-year record for the fewest goals conceded in a single league campaign, currently standing at 15.

Even if they have failed to win either of their last two fixtures, los Colchoneros have now kept five clean sheets in a row and another one of those would give them a very good chance of making it to the semi-final.

Following the aforementioned stalemate with Celta, Atletico also failed to beat Sevilla at home, but they were quite unfortunate not to make their domination count.

Nevertheless, los Colchoneros have been made 1.63 (7/11) favourites to win the return leg and secure their progress to the semi-final.

Fernando Torres has stepped up his recovery from an ankle problem, but he remains doubtful, while Tiago Mendes and Lucas Hernandez are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Moya – Gamez, Savic, Godin, Filipe Luis – Koke, Gabi, Fernandez – Griezmann, Martinez, Ferreira-Carrasco.

Similar to their next opponents, Celta Vigo have been exceeding expectations this term, although they are now going through a very rough patch.

The Sky Blues had been thoroughly impressive in the opening exchanges, beating the likes of Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal, among others, but they have experienced plenty of problems since the turn of the year.

Four defeats in five league games all but ended their Champions League hopes, and the team now need to work hard to secure the Europa League berth.

Meanwhile, Celta have done really well in Copa del Rey, recording double wins over Almeria and Cadiz before sharing spoils with Atletico at Balaidos.

Considering they have kept a clean sheet in each of last four Cup fixtures, the Sky Blues have reason for optimism ahead of the trip to Vicente Calderon.

Eduardo Berizzo rested a host of first team regulars at the weekend, and he should also have star forward Nolito back from injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Ruben Blanco – Jonny, Cabral, Sergi Gomez, Planas – Wass, Radoja, Hernandez – Orellana, Aspas, Nolito.
