Lazio vs UdineseThe amazing victory at Parma saw Udinese effectively return into contention for European places, and the Zebrette look to further boost their chances when they take on Lazio at Friuli.

The Biancocelesti slipped to sixth as they were beaten at home by leaders Juventus and another setback could see their European hopes go up in smoke.

Udinese recovered from from the dismal start to the season that saw them crash out of Europe and slip to bottom half of the standings in Serie A, with the team seriously raising their game in the New Year.

Once the hectic schedule was over, the Zebrette started playing to their potential and they were climbing the table in no time.

While rediscovering their home form Francesco Guidolin’s side started bringing points from the travels as well, with away victories over Sampdoria, Pescara and Parma helping them revive their European bid.

Following the 3-0 triumph at Ennio Tardini, the Zebrette sit just three points adrift of European places and they are 2.40 (7/5) favourites with Sportingbet to defeat Lazio.

Top scorer Antonio Di Natale returns after serving a suspension, with the veteran striker 2.20 (6/5) at Paddy Power to continue his scoring run.

Luis Muriel, however, misses through suspension, but Francesco Guidolin is certainly delighted to see the infirmary finally empty.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Brkic – Benatia, Danilo, Domizzi – Basta, Allan, Lazzari, Gabriel, Pereyra – Zielinski – Di Natale.

Lazio, too, have been struggling to cope with the busy schedule, but the problem is they have experienced a huge dip in form during the business end of the season.

Up until recently, the Biancocelesti were going strong in all the competitions entered, but the latest poor run of form is threatening to ruin their season.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side were not only eliminated from Europe, but also damaged their chances of clinching a Europa League berth by taking just 4 points from last 6 league fixtures.

A place in the Coppa Italia final might be in the bag, but the Biancocelesti have got to try and achieve a top 5 finish in Serie A as well.

That could prove to be a very difficult task unless Lazio win at Friuli, so bear in mind away win pays 3.25 (9/4) at BetVictor.

Stefan Radu and Giuseppe Biava return from suspension, but Lorik Cana is banned for the Udinese clash. Abdoulay Konko, Alvaro Gonzalez, Andre Dias and Cristian Ledesma are all injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Marchetti – Gonzalez, Ciani, Biava, Radu – Ledesma – Candreva, Onazi, Hernandes, Ederson – Klose.
