Roma vs Fiorentina 4-2AS Roma desperately need to return to winning ways having drawn their last four league fixtures, but they clearly face a difficult task on Sunday afternoon.

Fiorentina arrive at Stadio Olimpico full of confidence and hoping to further close the gap behind their top 3 rivals.

Buoyed by the heavy summer recruitment and arrival of coach Rudi Garcia, Roma enjoyed their best ever start to a Serie A campaign, winning amazing ten fixtures in a row.

Fourteen games into the league campaign, the Giallorossi remain the only unbeaten side, but their title chances have suffered a major blow following the run of four straight draws.

It was the home setbacks against Sassuolo and Cagliari that put a dent into team’s title hopes, and with trips to San Siro and Juventus Arena next, Roma need to at least try and win home matches against Fiorentina and Catania.

And while that will be no easy task, there may be some value in odds of 1.95 (19/20) offered on home win at William Hill.

The good news is that injury situation has seriously improved, with Daniele De Rossi, Douglas Maicon, Mattia Destro, Marco Borriello and Vasilis Torosidis all resuming full training.

Francesco Totti is also nearing his return, but this game comes too soon for him, whereas Federico Balzaretti remains on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Maicon, Benatia, Castan, Dodo – Pjanic, De Rossi, Strootman – Florenzi, Ljajic, Gervinho.

Fiorentina have established themselves as genuine top 3 contenders over the last couple of years and they have done well to close the gap behind third-placed Napoli following a somewhat indifferent start to the campaign.

The fact they remain the only side to have defeated leaders Juventus in the league speaks volumes about their performances, but Viola did suffer several unexpected slip-ups along the way.

Brilliant Giuseppe Rossi has managed to compensate for the absence of star striker Mario Gomez, although no doubt Fiorentina will be much stronger when the Germany international returns into action.

Rossi took his tally to 12 goals in 14 league matches this term by scoring the final goal in the 4-3 triumph over Hellas Verona, and he is 3.75 (11/4) to get on the scoresheet at Stadio Olimpico.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina are 4.33 (10/3) to defeat another title contenders on the road and record what would be their fifth away victory of the season.

Alberto Aquilani returns from suspension, but Mario Gomez and Ahmed Hegazy are out injured. David Pizarro and Manuel Pasqual face fitness tests.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Neto – Tomovic, Rodriguez, Savic, Pasqual – Aquilani, Pizarro, Valero – Cuadrado, Rossi, Vargas.
