Juventus vs Udinese preview

Juventus vs UdineseSerie A leaders Juventus could face another tough task after failing to win their last two league fixtures, with high-flying Udinese arriving in Turin.

Not so long ago, the Bianconeri looked like the only serious title contenders and had an eight-point advantage at the Serie A summit, but two poor results changed everything.

The unexpected home defeat to Sampdoria and 1-1 draw at Ennio Tardini allowed Lazio to close the gap to just three points, meaning the Old Lady now cannot afford another slip up.

Beating Udinese might prove to be a very difficult task considering that boss Antonio Conte faces a genuine selection headache, so we see no value in odds of 1.36 (4/9) offered at BetFred on home win.

With Kwadwo Asamoah away on international duty, and Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio all struggling through injury, Stephan Lichtsteiner is the only member of the five-man midfield who is fully fit for this match.

Conte, nonetheless, hopes that Pirlo and Vidal will pass the fitness tests, but Fabio Quagliarella is also injury doubt.

On the other hand, Simone Pepe, Nicklas Bendtner, Giorgio Chiellini and Rubinho are definitely out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Peluso – Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, De Ceglie – Vucinic, Giovinco.

Following some very disappointing displays in the opening exchanges, Udinese managed to return to the right track, and the Zebrette have spent last few weeks climbing the Serie A standings.

A six-match unbeaten run (4W 2D) saw the Friulani climb to eighth place in the standings, with convincing victories over Inter and Fiorentina helping the players restore the lost confidence.

Udinese’s unbeaten run will be at a serious test in Turin, but Francesco Guidolin’s side will attempt to take advantage of their opponents’ problems and bring at least one point back to Friuli.

Having said that, the Zebrette are 3.40 (12/5) with bet365 to extend their unbeaten run to seven league fixtures.

After netting four times in last two games, Antonio Di Natale is 3.10 (21/10) at bet365 to continue his scoring run.

Mehdi Benatia and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu are both away at Africa Cup of Nations, while Zeljko Brkic is out and Marcos Ranegie is doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Padelli – Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi – Basta, Pereyra, Pinzi, Lazzari, Pasquale – Muriel – Di Natale.
