Juventus vs Milan preview

Milan vs JuveFresh from the 2-0 victory over Lazio at Stadio Olimpico, Juventus aim to virtually secure the second successive league title with three points against Milan.

The Rossoneri had their advantage over Fiorentina reduced to four points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Napoli, and they hope to cement the third place in the standings by seeing off Juventus in Turin.

The ambitious project that started some two years back is progressing nicely, with the Bianconeri slowly becoming a genuine force to be reckoned with in both Italy and Europe.

While the team are on course to the second consecutive Serie A trophy, they did well to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, even if they were certainly disappointed by the 4-0 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.

Juventus failed to stay in the race for the Coppa Italia trophy, having been eliminated by Lazio in the semis, but club chiefs can still be satisfied with the outcome of the current season.

The Old Lady got revenge on the Biancocelesti for the Coppa Italia defeat by recording a 2-0 victory at Stadio Olimpico in the league, which was their fifth league triumph in a row.

With that in mind, you should know Juventus are 1.76 (19/25) favourites with Betfair to defeat Milan and get closer to the league title.

There have been some welcoming news for Antonio Conte as important defender Giorgio Chiellini has recovered from a knee injury, although he is unlikely to be risked as he is not fully fit.

Simone Pepe, Nicklas Bendtener and Sebastian Giovinco remain sidelined, but Nicolas Anelka returns into contention.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Peluso – Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah – Marchisio – Vucinic.

AC Milan have done brilliantly to cement the third place in the standings following such a disappointing start to the league campaign.

The Rossoneri have been absolutely amazing since the turn of the year and they have yet to lose a league fixture in 2013.

The impressing run will be put to a serious test in Turin, but the Rossoneri are 2.15 (23/20) with bet365 to get at least one point from Juventus Arena.

Milan remained in the driving seat for the final Champions League berth in spite of the back to back draws with Fiorentina and Napoli, as they are now four points clear of fourth-placed Viola.

However, things could get tricky if the Rossoneri lose in Turin, even if they have a fairly easy fixture list in the final five rounds.

Having scored in every one of their last six matches on the road, Milan are 1.55 (11/20) at Ladbrokes to extend the promising run.

Mario Balotelli has had his three-match ban reduced to two games, but he is still going to miss the Juventus clash just like Mathieu Flamini, who was sent off against Napoli.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Abbiati – Abate, Mexes, Zapata, Constant – Ambrosini, Montolivo, Muntari – Boateng, Pazzini, Robinho.
