Fiorentina vs JuventusJuventus can make a giant step towards third successive Serie A trophy by defeating arch rivals Fiorentina, but no doubts Viola will give their best to put a dent into the Bianconeri’s title hopes.

Antonio Conte’s side have largely struggled to make an impact in Europe’s elite competition over the last couple of years, but they remain the team to beat in Italy.

The Bianconeri are on course to win their third consecutive league trophy, although their performances in Coppa Italia still leave a lot to be desired, with Juventus winning the last of their nine titles back in 1995.

Following this year’s Coppa Italia exit at the hands of Roma, the Old Lady showed considerable improvement to cement the first place in the league standings, while easing off to the Europa League Last 16 stage.

And with Juventus winning last five fixtures in all competitions, conceding just one goal in the process, it is hardly surprising they have been made 1.40 (2/5) favourites to see off Fiorentina.

Antonio Conte was delighted to see all his players return from international duty unscathed, with only Arturo Vidal showing signs of fatigue.

The Chilean is, nonetheless, expected to start, just like Giorgio Chiellini, who is back from injury. Andrea Pirlo is banned, whilst Mirko Vucinic and Simone Pepe are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Marchisio, Pogba, Vidal, Asamoah – Llorente, Tevez.

For the second year running, Fiorentina look set to narrowly miss out on the final Champions League berth, but this time it may not be necessarily their fault.

Viola have battled bravely to overcome injuries and suspensions to key players, but numerous refereeing mistakes have denied them a chance to catch Napoli in the third place.

The latest incident that saw Borja Valero sent off against Parma and handed a four-match ban that was later reduced by one game seems to have destabilised the team, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for Vincenzo Montella and his players to fully focus on their performances.

Following the home defeat to Lazio, Fiorentina have no choice but to try and beat bitter rivals Juventus on the road, and they are priced at 10.00 (9/1) to succeed in their quest.

The Spanish midfielder will sit out two more games before he returns into action against Napoli, but David Pizarro and Modibo Diakite are back from suspension.

Nenad Tomovic is also banned, whereas Giuseppe Rossi, Ante Rebic and Ahmed Hegazy remain on the sidelines. Mario Gomez is pushing for his first start since returning from injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Neto – Diakite, Rodriguez, Savic – Cuadrado, Fernandez, Pizarro, Aquilani, Pasqual – Ilicic, Matri.
