Ian Wright has praised Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson after watching him in action for Wales against the Czech Republic.

Johnson, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, provided the assist for Wales in the 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic in the friendly international.

Arsenal legend Wright said on ITV Football’s International Highlights Show: “When you’re seeing players like that coming through, it has got to be quite exciting.

“Brennan Johnson, every time you see him he looks better. 11 goals, five assists this season in the Championship. They are improving.”

Johnson has made 35 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Forest so far this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in the process.

Forest are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 58 points from 36 matches.

The Reds are three points behind sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers, who have played 39 matches, and are rated at 10/3 on Betfair to win promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
