Villarreal vs Napoli preview

Villarreal held Napoli to a goalless draw in the first leg and they now have a good chance to make it to the next round with another home win at El Madrigal.

The Yellow Submarine opted for a more cautious approach at San Paolo, but they now plan to revert to their attractive attacking style that has brought them a lot of joy this season.

Angel Lopez, Marcos Senna and Juan Carlos remain sidelined for the hosts, while Santi Cazorla should return to the side after being rested against Malaga. Carlos Marchena is suspended.

Villarreal have never been eliminated from Europe by an Italian team, having knocked out Torino, Brescia, Roma and Inter in the past, so you should know the Spaniards are 1.67 (2/3) to qualify for the next round.

With Napoli still fighting for the Serie A title, the Partenopei could be forgiven for not being fully focused on Europa League.

Walter Mazzarri’s side continued the good run of results by beating Catania at home and they will be hoping to surprise Villarreal and make it to the next round.

The visitors will be without suspended Salvatore Aronica and injured Cristiano Lucarelli, while he could decide to rest a couple of starters with a view to Monday’s game against Serie A leaders Milan.
