UEFA European Under-21 Championship kicks-off in Denmark on 11 June with the game between Belarus and Iceland, but the real action will begin one day later with mouthwatering tie between Spain and England on display.

The two countries are also the tournament favourites, while Czech Republic, Switzerland and hosts Denmark are seen as dark horses of the tournament.

Spain arrive to Denmark hoping to repeat the recent successes of the senior national team, with such names as David de Gea, Cesar Azpilicueta, Javi Martinez, Juan Mata and Bojan Krkic proving Luis Milla’s side have got plenty of quality within their ranks.

Having said that, it is little wonder La Furia Roja are the odds-on favourites for the win at William Hill, being priced at 3.00 (2/1).

England, too, come to Denmark with a star-studded line-up and even without Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshire, the Three Lions have got more than enough quality players in the squad.

The likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Jack Rodwell, Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge promise an exciting tournament for England, who are now no less than 5.50 (9/2) with 888Sport to lift the coveted trophy.

While Czech Republic and Switzerland are highly unlikely to go all the way, the same cannot be said of hosts Denmark, especially when we know that they will have a vociferous support from the stands.

Coach Keld Bordinggaard doesn’t have too many well known players in the squad, now that Wolfsburg refused to let Simon Kjaer join the Under-21 side, but senior internationals Mathias Zanka Jorgensen and especially Christian Eriksen could really make a difference.

Seeing they were placed in a pretty easy group, odds of 3.20 (11/5) offered by Stan James on Denmark to win Group A really look tempting, whereas the Danes are 10.00 (9/1) with Victor Chandler to win the tournament on home soil.
