PSG vs Benfica preview

Once again Benfica came from a goal behind to win their EL game, this time against PSG and the Eagles now hold a one-goal advantage before the clash at Parc des Princes.

With such an attacking potential it is little wonder the Eagles often have no problems winning the game even when they go a goal down and they are now 5.50 (9/2) to come from behind and draw or win.

Coach Jorge Jesus rested most of the starters in the weekend’s game against Portimonense and they will be restored to the starting line-up for the PSG game.

With Ruben Amorim the only unavailable player at the moment, the boss will have nearly full squad to choose from.

Paris Saint-Germain are in all sorts of problems at the moment as their performances have started taking a turn for the worse of late.

After losing to Auxerre and Benfica, PSG had to settle for one point against Montpellier after squandering  two-goal advantage despite having an extra man on the pitch, with the lack of confidence clearly affecting their showings.

Club chairman Robin Leproux had to call an emergency meeting with the players in order to try and wake them up before the important games against Benfica and Marseille, but we are yet to see if that will have any effect on the squad.

Having constantly fielded weakened sides in Europa League, Antoine Kombouare is set to do it all over again, with weekend’s match with Marseille having the priority at the moment.

Ceara and Luyindula are unlikely to be risked as they are still not fully fit, while Makelele, Giuly and few others could be rested.

Victor Chandler pays 2.75 (7/4) on both Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica, with odds on draw 3.25 (9/4).
