Bastia vs PSGLigue 1 leaders PSG will be aiming to further increase their advantage over their title rivals when they take on Bastia, a team that sit well above the bottom three in spite of taking just one point from last three matches.

Despite the heavy summer spending, Paris Saint-Germain largely struggled to prove their worth in the opening exchanges and they just could not break away from title rivals Lyon and Marseille.

The Saints, nonetheless, have since hit the ground running and climbed to the top of the standings thanks to a 7-1-0 record in their last eight league fixtures.

With both Lyon and Marseille losing their weekend’s games, PSG moved three points clear thanks to an impressive win over Toulouse and they now aim to further cement the first place in the standings.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are just 1.17 (1/6) with Coral to see off Bastia, whereas they are 1.83 (5/6) at Ladbrokes to win to nil.

Defender Alex and Siaka Tiene are back in contention, but Thiago Silva and Thiago Motta are not yet ready to return.

New signing David Beckham is training under a special programme in London and he is out of contention for the Bastia clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Sirigu – Jallet, Alex, Sakho, Maxwell – Verratti, Matuidi – Lucas Moura, Pastore, Lavezzi – Ibrahimovic.

Bastia have done really well in their first season upon returning to the top flight and they have so far managed to avoid a difficult relegation tussle.

The team did experience some problems of late, taking just one point from last three league games, while failing to score a single goal in the process.

Bastia produced quite a coup by selling talented midfielder Florian Thauvin to Lille and they getting him back on loan until the end of the season, while they also loaned right-back Samuel Inkoom from Dnipro.

Boss Frederic Hantz is hoping the two talented players will help his side survive this season, although matching mighty PSG at their Parc des Princes might prove to be a very difficult task.

New signings Jacques Faty and Samuel Inkoom could be handed debuts, but Yannick Cahuzac remains on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Landreau – Cioni, Yatabare, Marchal, Harek – Sable, Rothen – Thauvin, Beauvue, Palmieri – Modeste.
