Netherlands aim to get revenge on Germany for the costly defeat at the Euro 2012, while Joachim Low’s side hope to make amends for squandering a four-goal lead in their last qualifier against Sweden.

Louis van Gaal took over the reigns at a very difficult time, after Oranje recorded three straight defeats at the European Championship.

Friendly defeat to arch rivals Belgium only added fuel to fire, but once again, the Netherlands started a qualifying campaign with a bang.

Van Gaal’s brave decision to put his faith into inexperienced players such as Martins Indi, Janmaat, Strootman and Clasie paid off as Oranje went on to win four straight games in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

However, despite going into this game high on confidence, odds of 2.60 (8/5) offered on home win at 888sport don’t look too tempting.

Robin van Persie, Kevin Strootman, Jeremain Lens and Luciano Narsingh have all pulled out of the squad, but Urby Emanuelson finally returns to international fold.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Krul – Van Rhijn, Martins Indi, Vlaar, Willems – Van der Vaart, De Jong, Emanuelson – Robben, Huntelaar, Afellay.

Germany, too, failed to meet the expectations at the Euro 2012, with home defeat to Argentina hinting Joachim Low’s side was on a major downtrend.

Die Mannschaft, nonetheless, eased off to three straight wins at the start of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, with 6-1 triumph in Ireland proving they remain a force to be reckoned with in Europe.

Everything looked to be according to plan in their last qualifier against Sweden, with Joachim Low’s side creating a four-goal lead, but the players allowed themselves to relax before the match was over, with Sweden scoring four second-half goals to make it 4-4.

Even if this is a friendly match, chances are Germany will give their best to return to winning ways, with odds of 2.75 (7/4) offered at BetFred on away win too good to pass.

Mesut Ozil, Miroslav Klose, Jerome Boateng, Marcel Schmelzer, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira and Holger Badstuber all miss out through injury.

As a result, Sebastian Jung, Sven Bender and Lewis Holtby have been drafted into the squad during the last couple of days.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Howedes, Hummels, Mertesacker, Lahm – Gundogan, Neustadter – Muller, Goetze, Reus – Podolski.
