Reigning champions Milan currently sit in bottom half of the table, whereas Udinese are one of the teams leading the race at the moment, so one might feel as if the two sides have switched roles at the start of the season.

Milan have started the season well, having beaten Inter to win the Italian Super Cup title, but that remains their only victory this term.

The Rossoneri showed some character by earning a draw against Lazio after coming from two goals behind, whereas the 2:2 draw at Camp Nou was seen as a major confidence boost even though team’s performance against Barcelona had been far from impressive.

Maxi Allegri’s side faced Napoli at the weekend and it was them who took the lead this time, but they ended up losing the game after Edison Cavani scored three goals to turn the tie around.

Despite the big selection problems, the Rossoneri have no choice but to try and win this game, and they are 1.73 (8/11) with 888Sport to claim maximum points at San Siro.

Injury problems continue as Ibrahimovic, Ambrosini and Flamini are all out, whereas Boateng, Robinho and Gattuso remain doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Abbiati – Abate, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini – Nocerino, Van Bommel, Seedorf – Aquilani – Pato, Cassano.

Many people believed that Udinese would largely struggle this season after staying without Alexis Sanchez, Gokhan Inler and Cristian Zapata, but the doubts proved to be unfounded.

Excellent coach Francesco Guidolin again managed to build a very strong side that gave Arsenal a tough time in their Champions League clash, but were very unlucky not to have reached the group stages.

That didn’t stop the Zebrette from wining next three games, beating Lecce, Rennes and Fiorentina, so there is no doubt the visitors enter this match full of confidence.

Taking Milan’s severe selection problems into account as well as Udinese’s impressive counterattacking style, odds of 5.80 (24/5) offered by Betfair on away win could be worth a shot.

Andrea Coda, Damiano Ferronetti, Antonio Floro Flores and Giovanni Pasquale are all unavailable, while Kwadwo Asamoah is very doubtful.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Handanovic – Benatia, Danilo, Domizzi – Basta, Isla, Pinzi, Badu, Armero – Torje – Di Natale.
