FA-cup

The weekend’s FA Cup action concludes at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City face holders Wigan Athletic in a repeat of last season’s final.

The hosts go into the game on the back of beating Sunderland in last season’s Capital One Cup final, and manager Manuel Pellegrini will be keen to progress as he aims to complete an unprecedented quadruple of trophies in his first season in English football.

Admittedly, the Manchester side have a tough task ahead of them in overturning a two-goal deficit in the Champions League, but they have their Premier League destiny well and truly in their own hands.

Sergio Aguero is set to feature having continued his comeback from injury by playing fifty-five minutes for Argentina midweek though Matija Nastasic and Stevan Jovetic are side-lined.

Aguero is favourite to open the scoring at 4.0 (3/1) with Bet Victor, with Alvaro Negredo a 4.33 (10/3) shot with the same firm.

City are huge favourites to win at 1.17 with a variety of firms, with Wigan as highly priced as the 23.0 (22/1) on offer from Bet 365, who have the draw at 9.5 (17/2).

The Latics are won their last five games in a row, a run which culminated in a fine 4-1 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest at the City Ground a week ago, while it was Cardiff City who they knocked out in this competition last month.

Uwe Rosler, who is preparing to face the club for which he played for between 1994 and 1998 for the first time as a manager, looks to be without Nick Powell despite the forward returning to training, though Callum McManaman could return after recovering from an ankle problem.

Nicky Maynard is widely available at 17.0 (16/1) to get the first goal of the game, with McManaman, who scored in last season’s quarter final win over Everton, a 26.0 (25/1) chance with Paddy Power.

Despite the Championship sides good form, they will struggle to keep free-scoring City at bay this time around, and you can back the home side to score at least three times at 1.8 (4/5) with Bet 365.
