With Ghana the number one favourites in Group D, Mali and Guinea are likely to fight for the second place in the group, meaning that we will see a lot of fireworks in this clash.

Boasting a star-studded line-up with players such as Freddy Kanoute, Mahamadou Diarra and Seydou Keita, Mali were considered one of the favourites for the title at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, but their campaign ended in disappointing fashion, having failed to go past the group stage.

The Eagles experienced some problems in the 2012 AFCON qualifiers, but managed to finish just above Cape Verde thanks to superior goal difference.

Alain Giresse’s side again boast a very strong squad, with most of the players plying their trade in French Ligue 1, so no wonder they are considered favourites to win this game. Betfair pays 2.50 (3/2) on home win.

Momo Sissoko, Mahamadou Diarra and Freddy Kanoute are not in the squad, but Modibo Maiga, Seydou Keita and Cheick Diabate are seen as key players in the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Sissoko – D. Diakite, Fofana, Tamboura, Kante – M. Traore, Sow, S. Keita – K. Traore, Diabate, Maiga.

Guinea have really raised their profile over the years and they are no longer considered one of the weakest sides in Africa.

Syli Nationale showed a lot of promise at 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana, but they then failed to qualify for the tournament in Angola.

Guinea did brilliantly to win their 2012 AFCON qualifying group in front of Nigeria, going through thanks to the goal scored in the 12th minute of injury time against their rivals for the first place in the group.

The team led by coach Michel Dussuyer is still a kind of an unknown quantity, but with players such as Pascal Feindouno, Kamil Zayatte and Ismael Bangoura in the side, they will fancy their chances against very good Mali side.

Stan James pays 3.25 (9/4) on Guinea to win this game, whereas Syle Nationale are 9.00 (8/1) with William Hill to win Group D.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Yattara – Zayatte, D. Balde, Kalabane, L. Camara – Feindouno, M. Bah, I. Traore – Yattara, Bangoura, S. Diallo.
