Feyenoord vs VitesseDespite losing their last two fixtures, Feyenoord have a chance to revive their title bid as they play host to second-placed Vitesse at De Kuip.

Meanwhile, the club from Arnhem hope to make amends for the home draw against NEC Nijmegen and keep up with leaders Ajax.

Feyenoord were extremely unlucky to miss out on a Champions League berth last term by virtue of goal difference alone, and the club entered the new campaign with virtually unchanged squad.

The Pride of South, however, had a nightmare start to the season, losing first three league fixtures and crashing out of Europa League early on.

Nevertheless, Ronald Koeman’s side managed to recover from the poor run of results and they ended the year 2013 in style, winning last five matches in all competitions.

The New Year started with an impressive 5-2 triumph against Utrecht, but Feyenoord have since lost to Ajax in the KNVB Beker and suffered a 3-2 defeat to ADO Den Haag in the league.

In spite of all their problems, the De Kuip outfit have been made 1.90 (9/10) favourites with Paddy Power to defeat Vitesse and cement a top 4 berth.

Experienced defender Joris Mathijsen is out with an eye injury, whereas Tonny Vilhena is a major doubt after injuring his ankle in training.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Mulder – Janmaat, de Vrij, Nelom, Martins Indi – Clasie, Immers, Goosens – Schaken, Pelle, Boetius.

Vitesse have seriously raised their profile since establishing an affiliation with Premier League giants Chelsea, with the club from Arnhem now serious contenders for the Eredivisie trophy.

The poor finish of the previous campaign saw the GelreDome outfit finish in fourth place, but they are determined to make things right this season.

Vitesse sit two points behind Eredivisie leaders Ajax after failing to beat NEC Nijmegen at home last weekend, meaning they have got to try and win at De Kuip.

That is easier said than done seeing they have lost last two league matches against Feyenoord, but odds of 4.10 (31/10) offered on away win should be taken into consideration given their 10-1-6 away record.

Captain Theo Janssen is stepping up his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, but he is still at least a month away from making a return into action.

Important defender Guram Kashia returns from suspension, whereas there are no fresh selection worries for boss Peter Bosz.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Velthuizen – Leerdam, Kashia, van der Heijden, van Aanholt – Propper, Vejinovic, Atsu – Ibarra, Havenaar, Piazon.
