Brazil vs Scotland preview

The Emirates Stadium in London will welcome mighty Brazil and neighbouring Scotland as the two sides look to test their skills against each other before the competitive matches resume.

Brazil’s new boss Mano Menezes had a great start to his career as the national team coach, with the Selecao winning first three games under his reign, but defeats to Argentina and France are threatening to destabilize the squad.

A convincing victory over Scotland would be the perfect way to answer the critics, so bear in mind that Brazil are priced 2.15 (23/20) at 888Sport to win the game by at least two goals.

Milan’s Pato misses out with an ankle injury, while fellow striker Nilmar is doubtful. Robinho and Ronaldinho have been overlooked, while Hernanes is out after picking up a red card against France.

Scotland haven’t had the best of starts to their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign seeing they picked up just four points from as many games, while largely struggling at home to beat minnows Liechtenstein.

Craig Levein’s side have shown some improvement in friendly games, having beaten Faroe Islands and Northern Ireland quite convincingly, and the Brazil game will offer the Scotts a real test before the qualifying campaign resumes.

Darren Fletcher, Graham Dorrans and Steven Naismith all miss out, but the good news is that Scott Brown, James Morrison and Alan McGregor will be fit to play.  Phil Bardsley and Iain Turner are also out.

Brazil are hot favourites to win the game with home win paying just 1.40 (2/5) at Bet365, while Scotland are 3.20 (11/5) not to lose the game at Paddy Power.
