Wednesday evening’s game at Goldsands Stadium sees Championship leaders Bournemouth face last season’s Premier League runners-up Liverpool in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup.

The Cherries beat Cardiff City in an eight goal thriller on the south coast at the weekend to stretch their unbeaten run to twelve in all competitions – nine of which they have won, including the 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion which sent them through to the last eight of this competition.

Manager Eddie Howe is expected to name his strongest side, with top scorer Callum Willson set to start for the first time in the competition this season having come off the bench in three of the previous four rounds.

The former Coventry City man is widely available at 7.5 (13/2) to get the first goal of the game with Brett Pitman a 9.5 (17/2) chance with Bet 365.

The home win inside ninety minutes is generously priced at 3.9 (29/10) with Bet Victor, with the visitors a 2.05 (21/20) chance with Coral and the draw a 3.8 (14/5) shot with Bet 365.

The Reds’ defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday was their fifth loss in their last ten games in all competitions, and they have won just twice since beating Swansea City in round four.

Brendan Rodgers is likely to again name Brad Jones in goal ahead of Simon Mignolet, while Mario Balotelli is pushing for a return to the starting line-up after impressing off the bench at Old Trafford.

The Italy international, who’s last goal came in that win over Swansea in October, is favourite to open the scoring at 6.0 (5/1) with a number of firms with Rickie Lambert a 6.5 (11/2) shot with Ladbrokes.

These two sides met in the fourth round of the FA Cup last season, with the Premier League side running out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge.

However, with the Cherries in such good form and so nicely priced, you may well be tempted to back them to win with both teams scoring at 7.0 (6/1) with Betfair.
