Garth Crooks has said that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is good enough to play for England.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward was impressed by Ramsdale’s performance against Leicester City in the Premier League at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s side won 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Ramsdale was very good between the posts and made a brilliant save from a free kick from James Maddison.

The BBC Sport pundit has included Ramdale in his Premier League Team of the Week and has said that the 23-year-old is good enough to play for England.

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “To get a hand to the ball in the first place took some doing.

“To keep the shot from entering the back of the net from an excellent James Maddison free-kick was world class.

“However it was Ramsdale’s immediate recovery and re-positioning to stop further shots going over the line that impressed me most.

“Ramsdale has been a big hit since his arrival at Arsenal. Is he good enough to play for England? I don’t see why not on this showing.”

The win against Leicester means that Arsenal are now sixth in the Premier League table with 17 points from 10 matches, just three points behind fourth-placed and London rivals West Ham United.

Arsenal can be backed at 10/3 on Betfair to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
