Tottenham vs AnzhiDespite already ensuring the first place in Group K, Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to keep their 100% record intact when they host out-of-sorts Anzhi.

Meanwhile, the Russians are already through, but they need to try and make amends for a five-match winless run they are currently on.

Tottenham Hotspur are not exactly playing to the expectations this season, but it appears they are slowly getting their campaign back on track.

Back to back away triumphs over Fulham and Sunderland did wonders for the players’ confidence, and saw them return into contention for a top 4 finish in the Premier League.

On the other hand, Spurs have been pretty impressive in Europe, winning all five fixtures in what is one of the weakest groups in the competition.

Nevertheless, Europa League games have Andre Villas-Boas an opportunity to hand much needed playing time to his fringe players and no doubts he will do it all over again with important game against Liverpool coming up.

Even so, Spurs remain hot favourites to win their sixth successive European fixture, with home win paying 1.25 (1/4) at Coral.

Vlad Chiriches and Jan Vertonghen are both injury doubts, whereas Cristian Eriksen, Harry Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Friedel – Naughton, Dawson, Chiriches, Fryers – Capoue, Dembele – Townsend, Lamela, Sigurdsson – Soldado.

Things have changed quickly for Anzhi, who have made the journey from relegation strugglers to title contenders and back in just over a year.

The club from Makhachkala have seen almost all first team regulars leave the club in the opening exchanges following drastic budget cuts and they have since unsurprisingly slipped to the bottom of Russian Premier League standings.

With Anzhi winless in the league this season and already five points adrift of safety, they clearly go into the Tottenham game low on confidence, and it appears the problems just continue to mount.

The club have been hit by a severe injury crisis, meaning it will be largely a second string side facing Spurs on Thursday, so odds of 1.95 (19/20) on Tottenham to win to nil need to be considered.

Goalkeepers Mikhail Kerzhakov and Yevgeny Pomazan are out through injury and sickness respectively, meaning third-choice keeper Mekhti Dzhenetov is likely to start.

Meanwhile, Andrey Eshchenko and Karlen Mkrtchyan have joined the lengthy injury list that already contained Traore, Solomatin, Akhmedov, Abdulavov, Demidov and Gadzhibekov.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Dzhenetov – Angbwa, Tagirbekov, Ewerton, Grigalava – Razak, Jucilei, Epureanu, Burmistrov – Maksimov – Serderov.
