Sunday’s Premier League action concludes at St Mary’s Stadium where Southampton face Manchester City.

The hosts find themselves in eight place following Saturday’s games, five points off the top six with just three to play.

Ronald Koeman’s side have lost just one of their last seven Championship games to keep themselves well in the hunt for a European qualification place and could leapfrog Liverpool into seventh place if they win and the Reds fail to do so at Swansea City in Sunday’s early kick-off.

Graziano Pelle could return after sitting out last weekend’s win at Aston Villa while fellow forward Charlie Austin may make the bench after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Pelle is 7.0 (6/1) to get the first goal of the game with a variety of firms, ahead of 7.5 (13/2) chance Shane Long.

The home win is as highly priced as the 2.8 (9/5) on offer from William Hill, with the visitors favourites at 2.75 (7/4). The draw can be backed at 3.5 (5/2).

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions, beating Stoke City 4-0 last time out in the league while they go into the game on the back of Tuesday evening’s goalless draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Three points here would see the Citizens tighten their grip on a top four spot, and put them back above Arsenal, who beat Norwich City in Saturday’s late kick-off, on goal difference.

Sergio Aguero is favourtie to open the scoring at 5.5 (9/2) with Wiliam Hill with Raheem Sterling a 10.0 (9/1) shot with a number of bookmakers.

City ran out 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture back in November – their fourth straight victory against the Saints.

They have scored at least twice in each of those victories, and you can back them to do so once more at a price of 2.4 (7/5) with Coral.
